DB-60 II Control Valve with BCM
Overview | Features & Benefits | Cars Run Longer | Added Safety
The only AAR Approved control valve with Brake Cylinder Maintaining
The DB-60 II control valve detects changes in the brake pipe pressure and rearranges the connections inside the valve to do one of the following:
- Release the brakes and recharge compressed air reservoirs on the car
- Apply the brakes by allowing air to flow to the brake cylinder
- Hold the air pressures in the brake cylinder at the current level
DB-60 II is the right control valve for railroads today
The Brake Cylinder Maintaining (BCM) feature continually compensates for changes in brake cylinder leakage – made worse by cold temperatures – so train engineers can confidently apply the brakes even on long downgrades and in frigid weather. View “How BCM Works” animation for more detail.
You’ll profit from lower in-train forces, more uniform brake shoe wear and longer lasting draft gear.
Brake Cylinder Maintaining is good for your bottom line
BCM is the biggest improvement in air brake control valve technology in 25 years. View “The Benefits of BCM” video to see how BCM:
Everything you like about the DB-60 and more
The DB-60 II is easy to install and AAR approved. There are no changes to the existing control valve dimensions. We built the new DB-60 II on the proven platform of our landmark DB-60, that provides unmatched reliability and stability and superior performance on the line.
E2O: restores up to 85% of braking force
